There’s a moon out tonight…
Back to Roosevelt Row tonight from 6pm-11pm. First Fridays art walk is a great place to gather, people-watch, eat, drink and be merry… oh, and there are over 100 vendors displaying an incredible variety of artwork.
And the weather is brochure-perfect. The sky is gorgeous.
Check out this sunset I caught the other […]

November
November 3rd, 2009 · No Comments
November kicked off nicely at 6:30am with a 3 hour hike into South Mountain Park. The world’s largest municipal park, SouMou features over 16,000 acres of Sonoran Desert wilderness. I joined a couple of my couchsurfing.org friends, Hytham and Brenda, and it was a lovely morning.
We came in from the east at Pima Canyon and wound our way […]

U2 in PHX, Me & ONE
October 23rd, 2009 · No Comments
As a volunteer for ONE.org, I was at the U2 concert at the University of Phoenix stadium. Awesome show.
The underlying message came from Archbishop Desmond Tutu
The stage was gargantuan…
The video screen redefined what a video screen is. 54 tons, expands to 14,000 sq feet. (oh, and I had good seats “The inner circle” I believe they […]

This month also brings a new twist on the FF theme; “First on First”.
Branching out to First Street, the organizers are expanding the reach of the […]

First Friday

I’ll be displaying some images at “Bantu Bistro” again for First Friday. Located on 7th Ave & Campbell, north of Indian School, this West African restaurant is a joy to visit. At least for me it is.
Chef Emmy and the staff welcome folks like family and the food is delicious. First Friday features a […]

Avery
November 24th, 2008 · No Comments
As we start the one week countdown to Avery’s surgery, I continue to learn about others that have been through this.
The video below about “Mary”, recounts her and her family’s experience regarding the surgery to correct her 75 degree curve (Avery has a 52 degree curve). Ironically Mary went to the same schools as Avery. Centennial […]

The Phoenix Rises
September 24th, 2007 · No Comments
It took about 15 months, but I can honestly say the makeover is done. I have successfully disposed of every reminder of my previously superficial, dramatic, more-of-everything-based existence.
The metaphor of the rising Phoenix is appropiate, if too easy to use, but the timing of it is perfect. As the end of September signals, The Valley of the Sun has risen from the deadly heat of summer just as […]

A New Arizona Holiday
September 3rd, 2007 · No Comments
It’s Labor Day and I’m reluctantly putting away the matching white belt and shoes until Easter. After a long drought we finally have another 3 day weekend. The last one was Memorial Day, way back in May. (Remember, the Fourth of July was on a Wednesday this year!)
But in my opinion the labor theme is getting kind of old anyway. If you know anything about […]
